Ruby Mountain

 

Access: Ruby Mountain is one of the few accessible ski tours off Highway 20 that can be done while the road is still closed.  You depart on the western gate of Highway 20. 

 

Route Description:  The route meanders up to the east of happy creek until you reach and obvious bench that looks up towards the summit. From here you venture climbers left into trees until you reach the upper portion of the mountain that rolls along towards the summit ridge. The climb has amazing views of the North Cascades and is worth all the effort. It also looks like a ripe area from exploring some challenging lines in the right conditions.
