Silver Peak

Access:  Silver Peak can either be accessed from the Summit-at-Snoqualmie Silver Fir lift and nordic trail network, or from Annette Lake. It's considerably less effort but more distance to come from the ski area since you'll ski/ skin mostly flat trails and then have mellow open slopes the whole way to the summit.  Other options for approaching from the same side are by coming either on east or west side of Mt. Catherine.  The Annette lake trail requires a deeper snow pack and more navigation skill to manage the various slopes, brush and tree density. However the west facing slopes to Annette lake are fairly open and nice.

Route Description:

If coming from the ski area,  you follow the nordic trail network to the the open meadows and from there catch a north facing bowl that has a few levels and takes you to the summitridge.  Many parties just leave their skis and boots for the final ridge run, which may require ice axes. Typical ski is to follow your track out.  From Annette Lake you generally follow the annette trail until you can weave your way up the west facing slopes.
