Guye Peak 

 

Description:  Guye peak is a fun day out that is close to Seattle, the climbing on the basic route isn't great, but its access and relative feel make it a worthy trip.  I did this in 2008

On this climb I had a chance to meet Franklin Bradshaw. He was a basic student and while I didn't rope up with him I remember his postive and chatty nature. Since this trip I ran into him on many occasions and he was also very friendly.  I enjoyed watching his trips and he was a wonderful photographer. In 2014 he was killed in an accident where a cornice collaped on him while scrambling a ridgeline.  Its terribly disheartening to get this sort of news, so everyone, please take extra caution.
