Angel's Staircase - Mountain Biking in the Methow Valley

Description:  Since Wilderness designated lands do not allow mountain biking, true classic alpine mountain bike rides are few and far between.  But Angel's Staircase is surely one.  At around 20 miles and 5000' of climbing it provides a full day of riding with epic views, tough climbs, and amazing descent, particularly the last descent down to the cars.  Its become a fall classic when the larches bloom, but catching it can be difficult with the short window before the changing season.  In 2017, after several previously failed plans, I was finally able to make it happen and only barely before the snow fully blanketed the region.
